# Title Bottom line Memory verse
Preparing for Promise God calls ordinary people into extraordinary responsibility. Facing an entirely new life in a new place called for courage and leaning on God as Israel faced many great uncertainties. Joshua 1:7; James 2:25
Crossing the Jordan Israel must learn how to trust God with transitions in life. They must lean on Him as they move from what's familiar into the unknown. This relates to transitions teens will face as well (school, friendships, identity). While they are stepping into unfamiliar territory, they are now, finally, entering into God's promises. Joshua 3:5; Hebrews 11:29–30
The Battle Belongs to the Lord Before God gives sends us to serve, He strengthens our identity. Before He calls you to trust Him, He reminds you who you are and whose you are. Hebrews 11:30
The Cover Up at Ai Hidden sin doesn't just affect a person, or a household, it can cripple a community, but honest repentance restores God's presence and power. However, when God's people return to obedience, He leads them to renewed victory and a fresh start. Joshua 7:12; Matthew 10:26
Discernment in a Deceptive World In our modern times it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine what is true and real. It is only by spiritual discernment, leaning on God's word and prayer that we may test the spirits (1 John 4:1–6). If we fail to seek wisdom from above, we will fall prey to the deceivers. 1 John 4:1
A Piece of the Promised Land Joshua 13–21 shows that God's promises aren't just for the nation as a whole — they're personal. Every tribe, every clan, and every household receives a place with their name on it, proving that God's faithfulness reaches all the way down to real people with real lives. Joshua 21:43; Ephesians 1:11
It's Your Decision In Joshua's final words to Israel, he reminds them that God has kept every promise and calling them to choose — decisively and wholeheartedly — whom they will serve. These chapters function like a final team huddle, urging Israel to reject compromise, remember their story, and renew their covenant with the God who fought for them. Joshua 24:15
The Judges Cycle Judges shows Israel stuck in a repeating cycle: they turn away from God, fall into trouble, cry out for help, and God raises a judge to rescue them — only for the cycle to start again. The main idea is that without a faithful leader and without hearts anchored to God, people drift into chaos and "do what is right in their own eyes. Judges 2:10
Faith Wins through Fearless Women Victory is assured by the Lord and not human strength. God is able to show Himself strong on behalf of the most unlikely people, who's hearts are loyal to Him. Hebrews 11:32–33
How Gideon Defeated Midian God works through imperfect, hesitant people who are willing to trust Him, not through human strength or confidence. Gideon's story shows that God meets us in our fear, empowers us in our weakness, and calls us to stay faithful even after success — because the real battle is remembering who the victory belongs to. Judges 7:2
Broken Promises and Broken People Israel's repeated unfaithfulness leads to deep national crisis, and although God raises Jephthah to deliver them, his wounded past and rash vow show how broken leadership and internal division can harm God's people just as much as external enemies. These chapters reveal that repentance restores relationship with God, but unwise decisions and pride can still bring devastating consequences. Deuteronomy 10:20
Samson's Strong Weakness God raises Samson as a deliverer with extraordinary strength, but Samson's divided heart and impulsive choices show how wasted potential and compromise can undermine even the greatest calling. These chapters reveal that God can still work through deeply flawed people, yet the cost of unfaithfulness is real and painful. Judges 16:20
Uncivil War Judges 17–21 shows what happens when a nation abandons God as its moral center—everyone does whatever seems right to them, and the result is spiritual confusion, corrupt worship, violence, and societal collapse. These chapters reveal that without God's kingship, even God's people can drift into shocking darkness and lose their identity and unity. Judges 17:6
